Trauma changes us. Sometimes, it’s physical. Other times, it’s emotional.
I remember the day I collided with a deer. The crash wasn’t just with the deer—it was with fear, pain, and a sense of loss. My arm broke that day, but so did my confidence.
Recovery was slow. Some days were harder than others. Pain reminded me of the accident. The scar told the story over and over.
Healing took work. Physical therapy stretched more than muscles—it stretched my patience. I had to trust the process. Small steps forward. Some steps back.
Recovering from emotional trauma feels the same. It’s messy. It’s frustrating. Fear creeps in, trying to control your thoughts.
But healing is a choice. It’s choosing not to let the accident define you. It’s waking up and saying, “I’ll take one more choice, one more step today.”
Life moves forward. Scars heal. They remind us of what we’ve overcome—not of what holds us back.
If you’re working through trauma, know this: healing isn’t linear. It’s a journey. And every step you take toward wholeness is a victory.
